HMS Belfast 1 Night
An Adventure Below Deck
On this trip, students will explore HMS Belfast, a historic warship, and discover what life was like on board for the crew from the Second World War to 1963.
Up to 52 children can ‘kip in a ship‘ and spend the night on board HMS Belfast, sleeping in real sailors’ bunks and immersing themselves in the ship’s history.
An Extraordinary Sleepover
As soon as you and your pupils arrive on the HMS Belfast, the adventure begins. Discover the history of this war ship, moored on the River Thames in the heart of London. Take part in special evening activities to discover the key roles of the ship’s staff, and understand what the 950 sailors’ daily life was like.
Your class will have the chance to make hot chocolate, raise flags, and will even receive a guided tour of the captain’s bridge, from where they can see London’s amazing skyline. At bedtime, your students will step back in time and sleep in real sailors’ bunks. Breakfast is included the next day, and is followed by several gripping anecdotes about the men who lived on the ship.
“Another superb trip, all went very smoothly. Thank you.”
